I’m pleased to announce that I will be a part of an anthology done by my colleague Lauren Davis. Called SciFi San Francisco, this anthology is a collection of science-fiction comics set in the Bay Area. Lauren has done a great job of curating this anthology, and I cannot wait for it to come out. I do not have a definite release date as of this writing, but I will keep everyone abreast of changes!
My piece is called For Rent, and it is about inter-dimensional realty as a solution to the current housing situation in the Bay Area.
More self portraits? Well, in this picture, I am holding a box of tiny, toy heads, which I made. I had made these molds of one of my teachers six months ago and I wanted them to be a surprise, so I waited to post this until now! Happy New Years!
My brother and his longtime girlfriend are getting married! To celebrate the occasion, they’re going to have boxes of fancy donuts rather than cake. And decorating the boxes will be a donut logo. Who do you think will design those donuts?
I’ve made these donuts so far. I will add text to them and maybe some other decorative elements.
As I’ve been using Illustrator to color more, I have also been trying to brush up on some of my other Illustrator based skills, like logo creation. Illustrator is great for creating logos and very clean, symmetrical images, so here are a couple o’ fun, practice logos.
In my last semester of grad school, I learned how to make GIFs! The timing on this is perfect because I am working on a series of short, sock-puppet-themed movies called BoardSockEmpire. As cross promotion, I am creating these GIFs. Eventually, I will incorporate these into a scrolling cityscape, not unlike XZCD’s infinite scroll comic, though significantly smaller. In the meantime, I share with you now these GIFs.
